ABOUT ME - THE ALTERNATIVE CV

I have been freelancing for over twenty years – a fact that contradicts my youthful appearance (see below) 

My first published photograph was a blurred shot used on the cover of ‘Warwickshire & Worcestershire Life’, for which I was paid the princely sum of £25 (twice the value of the camera on which the photograph was taken – a Lubitel TLR; a camera that did much for the reputation of Russian camera makers).

 Discovering that there was money to be made from out of focus images I have since gone to great lengths to undermine the optical expertise of the manufacturers of my lenses (for which I pay an extortionate amount of money because they are supposedly sharper than the alternatives). Both my wife and my bank manager regularly question my sanity.

 I am a great lover of the outdoors and get great pleasure out of trying to capture nature’s beauty. My work requires me to spend a lot of time away from home – something for which my wife and children are eternally grateful.
