New Workshops 2011

I've started to plan my 2011 workshop programme and more details will appear on my workshops page as and when they become available. But I wanted to announce as soon as possible my intention to run two 3 day pinhole photography workshops next year - one in the Lake District in the first half of the year and one in Venice in late November/early December.

Venice is a city I have always wanted to photograph with a pinhole camera (I think lensless imagery would really convey the mood & emotion of the location) and I am planning to visit this magical city again in September 2010 in part to get my own shots and also to recce the place with a workshop in mind.  

The recent pinhole photography workshop on the North Yorkshire coast proved to be extremely popular and sold out very quickly. I already have expressions of interest for the two workshops planned in 2011 so, as numbers will be limited to 6 people on each, if you are interested in coming along then please let me know as soon as possible.

Exhibitions

ArtsBank is an exciting new gallery development in Saltburn, Teesside that provides a centre for art of all descriptions e.g. photography, painting, pottery, poetry. The gallery has recently opened in the shell of a wonderful old building that used to be a bank in Saltburn town centre. I am pleased to have been invited to exhibit my work there and hope to have an ongoing relationship with the gallery that'll see a variety of my photographs on display there in the future as well as it being a venue for talks and photo workshops. The gallery is also selling my 'Lensless Landscapes' book & cards.

My illustrated talk on 'The Nature of Creativity' at ArtsBank gallery has now been rescheduled from the evening of 16th July to the 8th October 2010. If you'd like to attend please telephone the gallery on 01287 625300 to register your interest and acquire a ticket (cost £5).

I have been invited to show some of my  black & white landscape prints at Lockwoods Cafe Bar & Restaurant in Ripon, North Yorkshire. The exhibition of around 15 prints will open on 4th August  2010 and will run for 6-7 months.  Lockwoods is a great place to go for a coffee and a snack or even a meal (and I can personally vouch for how good the meals are having recently been there with a workshop group!). I hope that you can make it along while my work is on show.
